Salman Khan appeal in the Jerai Fitness case was listed before a two-member NCLAT bench last week. However, at the request of his lawyer, the hearing was postponed. The bench, comprising Justice Ashok Bhushan and technical member Barun Mitra, has now scheduled the next hearing for September 15.

Earlier, on May 30, 2025, the Mumbai bench of NCLT had dismissed Salman petition, stating that his claim did not fall under the category of an undisputed debt and instead comes under recovery proceedings. However, the tribunal did acknowledge that there was a default of more than ₹1.63 crore.

What Did NCLT Find?

The NCLT in its ruling observed that Jerai Fitness was allowed to produce, market and advertise products under the brand Being Strong. The tribunal however indicated that according to the agreement, all the key decisions made in the manufacturing, marketing, promotion and distribution had to be communicated earlier to the petitioner. These decisions could be made only with the consent of Alvira Agnihotri, or a person empowered by her.
