In September 2024, our legal separation was amicably finalised.

He also wrote, I also decided to have some time before posting this update so I can work through the transition quietly and so as to have everything planned out, particularly in the best interest of our daughter, Renuka in heart. She still holds the first place in my life, and I will do my utmost to co-parent her with Neha, and with love, support and stability.

This will be a new beginning to us as individuals but our relationship as parents and the respect we share towards one another has not diminished. I really like how you understand and value our privacy and choice at this moment. Love and gratitude, Rahul.

The grandson of a legendary vocalist Pandit Vasantrao Deshpande, Rahul Deshpande made his individual mark as one of the most respected classical singers and actors in India. Rahul was born on 10 October 1979 in Pune, Maharashtra, and has received several highly regarded awards, including the National Film Award, Filmfare Awards Marathi and the Maharashtra State Film Award, because of his strong performance in Me Vasantrao. Strongly influenced by Pandit Kumar Gandharva, Rahul studied under the strict classical rules and training of Pandit Gangadharbuva Pimpalkhare and Dr. Madhusudhan Patwardhan. He would eventually polish his work under Smt. Ushatai Chipalkatti and Pandit Mukul Shivputra. Rahul is not only a singer, but he also ventured into rhythm and learned tabla under the guidance of Pandit Suresh Samant, which further enhanced his musical experience.
